Music and Gym

In Gym, we are learning to kick balls.

In Music, we are making our own music sheet.  It consists of HH for high high sound, H for high sound, LL for low low sound, and L for low sound.

Just having fun outside.

Fire Prevention Presentation

Thank you to the firemen and firewomen for coming to Sandburg to show us how to be safe when there is a fire.

Don't worry, the 991 is there because a friend typed in the wrong order.  She fixed it right away.  We will certainly practice reading our numbers at school so we know what "nine one one" is.

It is October!

It is a new month!  We started back at 1 again and it is not September anymore but it is October!  We also learned a new song about the months to help us figure out the order of the 12 months.

Here are a few new centers we are doing this week.

Count Battle in the iPad is cool because it is a race to tap numbers 1-15 in numerical order.  Some friends are pretty fast with this.

We also started a new Phonic chart Number 7 and learned about a new song about washing our hands.

In Math, we continue to work with Pattern Blocks.

Art and Handwriting

In Art, we are learning to draw lines; circle lines, straight lines, curve lines, and zigzag lines.

We also worked on putting pattern blocks over a big shape.

Here is a list of the letters we have been learning to write and the language we are using to help us write.

Have a great weekend!

Walk in the Woods and Welcome Night

In the afternoon, we went for a walk in the Sandburg Woods.  Yes, we realized that event though it was a little chilly today, there were still mosquitoes out there.  We did not see animals but we were learning to be Scientists; walking on the trail, being very quiet, and looking and listening to things around us.  Thank you Ms Naomi for leading us.

Thank you for coming to our Welcome Back Night at Sandburg.
