Science, Dancing, and Learning about Shapes
We are using popsicle sticks / craft sticks to make 2d shapes. We made squares, rectangles, and triangles. "It is not possible to make a cirlce" said one of the friends when asked to make a circle with the sticks. Another friend suggested that the only way to make a circle is to have "bend" sticks.
In science, we are trying to investigate a "phenomena" we observed in a video as to why some plants grow and some don't; even though they were planted the same way.
To help us control our body movements and be aware of our spaces, we danced and played toss using scarves. It was fun!
Sandburg Woods and REACH
We took another trip to the Sandburg Woods before the snow. It was beautiful! We saw mushrooms, centipedes, and plastic garbage. We listened to the woods and we heard leaves falling down, winds swooshing, feet crunching leaves, and birds cawing. And of course, construction workers hammering and Sandburg students laughing in the nearby playground.
REACH is so fun!
